Where’s the ‘English’?

June 20th, 2007

I’m on a train with awful wifi, but thought I’d try to post this.

Out in India an off-licence is called an ‘English’, and though it claims to sell wine it does no such thing – just beer, whisky, gin, and vodka.

WiFi on a train? You can’t be in India now, are you?

Nope. That was a few years ago. The wifi was somewhere between york and London last weekend on a stupidly delayed GNER train. I’d pick an Indian train any-day, even without the ’snail-wifi’ ; )
